Raymond C. Bowen III | President and Co-Founder

Raymond Bowen, President and Co-founder of Exceptional Software, has worked in the Defense Contractor Industry for more than two decades. He joined with a former colleague, Paul Stasko, to found an independent consulting firm. A few years later, that morphed into Exceptional Software. Under Ray’s leadership, Exceptional Software has sustained yearly growth in the D.C. area’s competitive IT market – it expanded from 2 people in 1996 to a company that is ranked in the top 10 largest minority-owned businesses in the Baltimore area. Ray holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, and received his Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification from the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium.

Ray is very active in his local community. He serves on the State Board for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Board of Directors for the Greater Baltimore Center for Pregnancy Concerns, and the School Board of Cornerstone Academy of Glenwood. Ray and his wife, Pat, have three children and live in Glenwood, Maryland.

Paul J. Stasko | Vice President and Co-Founder

Twenty four years ago, Paul Stasko started his IT career by taking the Oath of Office for Federal Employees. He spent a dozen years working for different government agencies and contractors on numerous projects, where he learned a great deal about what to do (and what not do) if you want to run a stable, successful business. Paul co-founded Exceptional Software in 1996 after deciding that loyal, satisfied workers are the key to good business. Although Exceptional Software is very different from some companies Paul has worked for, the core of his personal business mission has always remained the same – to support the United States and the men and women who serve it.

Paul holds an M.S. in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University and a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Scranton. With his technical expertise, his years of experience, and his dedication, Paul has helped Exceptional Software blossom from its humble beginnings. In fact, Exceptional Software has grown every year since its inception and now employs more than 130 professionals.

Paul lives in Lutherville, Maryland, with his wife, Sandy, and their daughter, Meghan. He is an avid outdoorsman whose hobbies include skiing, hunting, and golf (which he loves to share with his daughter – Meghan already has an excellent swing). Paul also contributes to several Maryland charities, including the Roland Park Country School.
