Service Oriented Architecture

Exceptional Software has successfully developed and implemented a service-oriented architecture framework that has provided solutions for a number of customers with unique problems. These solutions range from electronic courtrooms to enterprise information dissemination systems to online universities.

Service-oriented architecture, or SOA, is a software design concept that allows multiple services, including business processes and applications, to be grouped together into one interoperable system. SOA puts all of the services together on a network so that they can communicate with each other and coordinate activities regardless of system requirements, operating systems, and coding language. The result of SOA is a streamlined business process that helps companies respond quickly to changing market conditions, saving them time and money.

Under an ongoing research and development program, we are extending our SOA framework to incorporate cloud computing as part of an information fabric. Within our information fabric, we can dynamically distribute services across a number of servers. This decentralized and scalable SOA architecture allows us to meet user processing requirements, and our information fabric maximizes the utilization of computer resources which helps to reduce power, space, and cooling requirements.
