Project Management
Without appropriate and professional program/project management, no program can achieve its full potential. At Exceptional Software, we recognize this and strive to provide the highest quality program managers available. Our managers are members of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and subscribe to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodologies. Many of our managers are also certified Project Management Professionals (PMP), and we offer assistance and support to those pursuing certification.
We have established a Corporate Program Management Office (CPMO) at Exceptional Software Strategies. The CPMO is responsible for staffing program manager development. We recruit and select candidates for staffing needs across all programs (prime and sub-contracts) and for all proposal efforts. We also facilitate all internal transfer needs. When an employee requests a transfer to move across programs, the CPMO facilitates this need by coordinating with the employee, section managers and program managers. For program management development, the CPMO mentors new program managers. We give new PMs the opportunity to develop their qualifications by managing our smaller efforts and mentoring them in the process. Our goal is to give current Exceptional employees opportunities to transition from a technical field into program management. Through this program, these PMs can build their experience to the point where they can qualify for a PM or Deputy PM position on a current or new program.
